Real Bride Rakhee's wedding day Vegan Bridal makeup at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

So pleased that Rakhee managed to get a rescheduled date in due to having to postpone with the C word around! I'm also glad along with my suppliers, the rest of the suppliers she wanted were available too. Rakhee managed to get in for an in-person trial before lockdown hit. She was booking for makeup only and had a trial for her Indian wedding. Generally Rakhee was happy with the trial, any concerns were addressed and any changes she wanted were made.

Which products did I use?

Ofcourse, all the makeup I used was vegan and cruelty-free. Rakhee knew she wanted a red lip, flawless matte skin, and lots of blusher was the memo! I used the Limecrime liquid lip in Feelins. (I now have a discount code for LookFantastic - LFTFJAINEESHA gets you 20%.) For the skin I used COVERFX powerplay which I love but it's becoming a bit difficult to get hold of.

Marlena worked on Rakhee's hair and created a beautiful textured low up-do. If you didn't know, Marlena did my hair for my sisters wedding.

Reception Look

This look just reminded me off Princess Jasmine! I think it's the sleeves and the headband. Do you see it too? Rakhee had a very relaxed wedding day with a long changeover time in-between which meant she had time to relax before we came back for the changeover. She also planned the day so that herself and her husband could attend the drinks reception and mingle with the guests (which I think is a great idea).

Rakhee's Reception Look

Rakhee didn't have a trial for this look. Instead we booked a virtual video consultation where Rakhee sent me images of her outfit and jewellery and we decided the look together. The brief was nude lips and lots of blusher again. I generally clean up the foundation and concealer and then make amendments to the makeup. I think the hair and makeup worked really well and tied the whole look together.

Advice for Brides-to-Be

1) When deciding your look, pick something that is timeless and reflects you, this is exactly what Rakhee did. 2) Also get ready at the venue where possible. You'll have a seamless start to your morning.

3) When booking an artist always check for videos as these are usually unedited. Here is Rakhee's morning look and evening look.
